What is the difference between Ston and Mali Ston?

Ston and Mali Ston are sister towns, only a single kilometer apart. Mali Ston is smaller than Ston, and is know for its oyster farming and seashell cuisine.

Both towns are connected by Walls of Ston.

Ston used to be capital of principality of Zachumlia in Middle ages but was later acquired by republic of Ragusa (today’s town of Dubrovnik).
