Is Slano a coastal town or an island?
Slano is a very small coastal town near Dubrovnik. Its name, when translated to English, means “Salty”.
According to the local legend, it got its name after a Bosnian queen came to coast and as she was thirsty, she was given seawater and after drinking it, she exclaimed “Slano!” or “Salty!” and so name was given to this small town.
Slano is small and peaceful town, but it’s starting point when going for Oyster experience at Mali Ston oyster farms.
